Geocaching Day


Ages: All ages

Saturday, March 2  3pm

& Saturday, March 9 10am

Geocaching is a fun way to explore the outdoors by using GPS coordinates to search for a hidden treasure. We will be finding a couple of caches in one area, and the kids will be given the opportunity to navigate to find each one. Parents are encouraged to stay for this class, but drop off is okay as well.

We will be relying on an app for the GPS, so please download the free Geocaching app if you have a smartphone and plan on staying for the class. We can work in groups if not every family has the app, so please still attend even if you are not able to download it. This is the link to to the app:

Other Information

    • Please bring a full water bottle
    • Please dress children appropriately for the weather
      • Hat/sunscreen in heat
      • Warm layers, waterproof layer, warm hat in cold/rain
      • Shoes capable of walking in for varying distances
      • Unless the weather is very extreme, the meetings will still continue for those dressed appropriatel
  • Please let us know ahead of time if there are any medical issues, disabilities, or other details that you would like us to be informed about


We will be meeting by the levee on Folsom Lake, at the intersection of Green Valley Road and Sofia Parkway. If you have a state park pass or would like to pay for parking, feel free to park in the gravel parking lot near the levee. Otherwise, park for free just across the street on Sofia Parkway and take the short walk up to the parking lot.
